Artful Agenda Yearly Planners

Sunday, August 08, 2010

Some of my recent work was published in these useful art-packed planners by Artful Agenda!

These planners were a collaboration between several artists from all over the world. Every page of the planner has different bits of art, from ink monsters to portraits to abstract pieces! A percentage of the profits from the sales of the agendas are given to public schools, giving this project a purpose other than organizing your daily life.

I got two of these planners and I have to tell you: they are a work of art themselves! And it feels good to know that some people in need will benefit from this project too.

You can purchase your agenda on the Artful Agenda Website.

My Work in Applied Arts Magazine

Sunday, August 01, 2010

This post is a bit late as the issue of the magazine came out in the mid June, but it is still available for purchase at any Chapters or Indigo store!

Ink Visions is a series of illustrations that were inspired by the unique patterns of ink droplets in water. The illustrations were completed using a digital drawing tablet. Ink Visions celebrate the wonderful discoveries we may encounter if we let our imagination loose!

These works are available in my online store as bookmarks, postcards or posters.

Back from Italy with New Ispiration!

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Yes, I am back and I am eager to produce more artwork! My inspiration trip consisted of traveling around Sardinia, an Italian island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. I have never seen such beautiful beaches, mountains and skies. Take a look at just a couple of images I captured during the trip. Oh, and stay tuned for new work!

Yet another Virtuo link

Monday, June 21, 2010

Ah, it is so frustrating to see people liking this idea, but never being able to actually make it a reality. Take a look at the link below. Virtuo is in a top 5 list of incredible ideas that never made it to market?
The problem is that it was a student project, thoroughly worked out and tested but lacking the funds to take it to the next level.

Why can't I get the funds? Everyone wants to see a working prototype. While I do have a partially working visual model, it does not have all the functions Virtuo would have when produced at a mass scale. It is quote understandable since the time and money available for this project during university was very limited. However, this idea has thorough research and user testing backing it up. I worked with leading specialists in the field of design, electrical engineering and user experience to develop this concept.

This product was entered in several competitions and the reason it never it went further was once again the absence of a fully working prototype. I would love to make one, but with the level of complexity of this project and being just one person, it is practically impossible to do it without  the help from others.

So it is a vicious circle: in order to get any money support to develop this project, I need to show a working prototype. But in order to make a fully working prototype I need money. Therefore this project is still a concept, awaiting someone who is interested enough to take a small risk and help me in this struggle.

If anyone has any thoughts on this or can help, please contact me here. I would very much appreciate any advice.

Thank you.
